“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”

Welcome! I’m Tierney (she/her)

Many people come to therapy because something in their life isn't working the way it used to, or because they're realizing it's not working the way they'd like it to. Sometimes the reason is clear; other times, it's harder to put into words. You may be struggling with anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, a life transition, grief, or simply a feeling that you're ready for something to shift. Whatever brings you here, therapy can be a space to better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward the life you want to create.

I work with individuals who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of their next steps. Together, we'll explore what's getting in the way, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and build on the strengths and resources you already possess. I deeply respect the vulnerability that therapy requires and strive to create a space that feels supportive, collaborative, and grounded. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and thoughtful, with curiosity, compassion, and even a little humor when it helps.

My personal experiences with therapy taught me that growth and healing are not one-size-fits-all processes. What supports one person may not support another, and meaningful change often begins with greater self-awareness - learning to understand our patterns, listen to our needs, and respond to life's challenges with intention. This perspective shapes my holistic approach to therapy. I look beyond symptoms alone and consider the many factors that influence our well-being, including relationships, life experiences, physical health, and the ways we relate to ourselves. My goal is to help you deepen your understanding of yourself, build on your strengths, and create meaningful, lasting change that feels authentic to you.

I currently offer telehealth therapy to clients across New York and New Jersey, making it easier to access support in a way that fits into your life.

Experience

I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families. I’ve worked across a range of settings, including community mental health clinics, residential substance use treatment programs, school-based services, a health tech startup, and private practice. Most recently, I served as Program Director for an LGBTQ+ youth and family support initiative — leading clinical services, advocacy efforts, and community education focused on increasing access to affirming care. These diverse roles have shaped a trauma-informed, affirming, and relational approach to care, integrating evidence-based practices with humility and cultural awareness.

My clinical focus includes working with people navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity development, substance use, parenting, and life transitions. I also have experience working with people during the perinatal and postpartum journey and I’m passionate about holding space for parents and caregivers as they move through change, identity shifts, and new responsibilities.

My work is grounded in whole-person care, honoring how our minds, bodies, and relationships all shape our wellbeing. I integrate relational, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches to support insight, emotional regulation, and a felt sense of connection. Above all, I strive to offer care that is thoughtful, collaborative, and centered on your unique story and needs.
